Movie Poster Analysis

1. In your exercise books, analyse The Lego Movie poster, commenting on:


  • The narrative: what is happening in the poster
  • The colour scheme 
  • The title, tagline and any other writing you can see
  • The audience: Who this would appeal to any why
  • Anything else you find interesting about this poster.


2. Now, choose any other film poster of your choice and analyse that too:

3. Next, create your own film poster:

Struggling for what to call your film? Generate a name for your film by going to the Wikipedia mainpage (and press ALT-SHIFT + X) and using the first article title on whichever page pops up. 



PHOTOSHOP FAQ



Where do I find it? (PC version)



In the start menu, select - all programmes - common programmes - adobe production premium - photoshop (64bit)



How do I get started?



In the upper left select - file - new



What page size do I need?



A4 - portrait



The image is the wrong size!



Press ctrl + t, now press and hold shift, pinch the corner of the image and stretch it until it fills the space. You can use the move tool (shift v) to align it properly.



How do I add text?



On the left hand side it a T, click on the T and then draw a text box where ever you wish. Type the name of your film and select a font and a size just as you would do on word.
